LESSON POLICIES

Tuition, Deposit, Late Fees and Refunds

Private lessons at Overflow Music Studios are $25 for a 30 minute weekly lesson. An invoice is automatically sent on the 1st of each month based on the portal calendar and payment is due by the 8th. Parents are responsible for keeping their calendar up-to-date as that is what will be billed. You can choose to set up auto-pay on your parent portal by adding a card and checking the “auto-pay” box. Otherwise, payments must be made directly via the digital invoice.

If for some reason a card is declined, you will receive an email from the studio notifying you of the incident and any error code associated. You will have until the 10th of the month to pay the balance due. Any balances not paid by the 10th of the month will incur a $10 late fee.

If a lesson is billed and then canceled prior to 24 hours before a lesson, there will be a credit on the account for the following month. A “make-up” lesson can also be scheduled if there is availability.

Student Drop-off and Pick-Up

Students may be dropped off or parents may attend lessons. If multiple students are enrolled in lessons, they may all stay the entire block of time, but please ensure they bring homework, books, or other quiet items for them to do while they wait. There are a few books and simple craft items in the studio for them to use.

To respect the teacher’s time and the students before or after, Overflow Music Studio requires that students do not enter early and are also picked up promptly following their lesson.

Student Attendance & Absence

Attendance is expected and will be taken at each lesson and updated in the portal. Missing a lesson will only slow down your musician’s progress. Our desire is to develop your musician’s skills to their fullest potential - this means working hard to attend all lessons and giving your best during it. All lessons that a student cannot attend must be updated by a parent on the portal calendar. This includes outside the 24 hour window for a credit, within the 24 hour window of a lesson for no credit, as well as anytime before an invoice is sent.

Weather Closing

In the event of inclement weather and/or poor road conditions, parents are the decider as to whether a lesson is cancelled or not based on their comfort level with driving. Any weather related cancellations will receive a credit on the next invoice.

Photography/Video Release

I understand and release Overflow Music Studio the irrevocable and unrestricted right to use, reproduce, and publish photographs and/or videos of my child for editorial, trade, advertising, or any other purpose or manner and medium. I hereby release Overflow Music Studio and its owner, administrative staff and teachers from any and all claims, actions, and liability relating to its use of said photographs. Any exception/objection must be submitted via email prior to the start of the season so we can proactively prevent photos/videos from being taken of your child.

Liability Release

I understand, release and hold harmless Overflow Music Studio, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, sickness, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of Overflow Music Studio, its owners and operators or in route to or from any of said premises.

Addressing Concerns

Overflow Music Studio encourages open communication between teachers, staff members, students and parents. We welcome feedback from our families. At the right time, don’t hesitate to discuss any questions or concerns you have regarding your child’s music experience. However, to honor the time and responsibilities of others, please do not bring up concerns to the teacher before, during or after a lesson or performance. Parents should email overflowmusicstudios@gmail.com to set up an appropriate time to address questions, concerns and/or provide feedback.
